Chapter 33 - Purple Afterglow
“Are you okay? I think I went too hard near the end.”
“No, I’m all right.” The response was stoic as always, but for some reason, it sounded very sensual. Heerak couldn’t take his eyes off the lips uttering in a voice that was hoarse from the intense exercise they did.
“Are you in pain anywhere?”
“Yes, I’m fine…” Doseon trailed off. He averted his eyes sheepishly and whispered in a tiny voice. “But I think my hand fell asleep.”
Heerak tilted his head slightly and looked down at their hands, still clasped together on the pillow. They held each other so tightly that Heerak could not feel sensation in his hand. As soon as Heerak loosened his grip, he made a face at the prickling sensation shooting up his wrist.
“Oh, I think mine cramped up too.” After mumbling so, Doseon smiled wordlessly. This time, it didn’t disappear, which made Heerak happy. He could gaze at those smiling lips for days without getting tired of it.
For some reason, he felt giddy. He wanted to keep staring at Doseon’s smile like this on and on. Maybe it was because Doseon rarely smiled. One smile was enough for Heerak to keep wanting more. He thought it would be nice if Doseon could smile like this all the time.
“Oh, right!” Heerak exclaimed while he was playfully rubbing the tips of their noses. “Damn, I completely forgot.”
“I’m sorry, Doseon. I didn’t intend to come inside, but it slipped my mind halfway through. I don’t know why I keep forgetting things today.”
“Oh, right…” Doseon understood and seemed to say it was all right with his eyes. However, both his expression and voice… Heerak’s brows furrowed—he got a bad feeling about this.
“Did I come inside you that day too?”
He didn’t know what he wanted to say after he asked, but he asked anyway. “After getting your permission?”
“Mmm…” Doseon chuckled weakly. The bitterness on Doseon’s lips made Heerak feel distraught. “That night, I don’t think you were in any state to ask for permission for anything.”
Doseon probably carefully chose his words in an effort to comfort Heerak. He was thankful, but his head was still dizzy from self-reproach. “Director…”
Heerak was internally clicking his tongue at himself when he snapped back to reality at the soft call of his title. “Yes?”
“I wonder what time it is right now.”
“Huh, me too.” It was hard to tell the passing of time in this brightly lit room. Heerak glanced over at the head of the bed and the nightstand, but his phone or watch weren’t in either place. He then remembered that he abandoned them in the bathroom when he took off his suit.
He slowly let go of the hand he was holding. Both of their faces crumpled in the same way. Heerak snickered and carefully lifted his upper body. He gently held the other’s wet thighs and pulled out from the place where they were one. He could feel a slight tremble in his grasp.
Heerak quickly looked up. Just looking at the bodily fluids and lotion, mixed together and stuck on Doseon’s pubic hair, made his lower body feel tight again. He had to use all his self-restraint to stop himself from submitting to his primal desires to do it one more time. “Sit tight and wait for me, all right?”
As he got up, his eyes kept escaping down to Doseon’s lower half. Seeing Doseon look sleepy and dazed while melting in the bed sheets made Heerak swallow.
Heerak did his best to move his legs and get out of the bedroom. He felt like he was running away. Patience and restraint—he was amazed that those things were even possible in this situation.
He found his phone in one of his suit pockets near the bathroom. It was past midnight now. He received one call from Seokchan, but seeing the lack of a follow-up text, it didn’t seem like the call was for something urgent. Seokchan might have just been curious as to how the discussion went with Doseon. ‘We did have a very serious and intimate discussion. However, the issue was that we used our bodies to talk.’
Heerak grabbed chilled water from the fridge and returned to the bedroom. Doseon whipped his head in Heerak’s direction when he noticed his presence and blinked blankly. He looked at Heerak with questioning eyes, and Heerak responded, “It’s past midnight. A lot more time passed than I expected.”
Doseon’s face darkened as soon as he heard the answer. Heerak asked what was wrong, and the answer came out with a sigh. “I don’t think the buses are running anymore. Director, I don’t really know the area, but is there anywhere I can grab a taxi?”
Heerak gave Doseon a confused look before he asked, “Is there a reason you need to home right now?”
“No, nothing like that. But I thought it would be better if I went home because you might feel tired, and I need to go to work in the afternoon.”
Heerak drew closer while Doseon spoke. “Going to work? Tomorrow is your off day,” Heerak said and gently caught Doseon when he attempted to sit up. He helped the other lay back on a pillow.
Doseon thanked him with his eyes and carefully continued, “Today… No, yesterday, I took an absence without leave. I can’t take two days off in a row. Plus, I need to explain my circumstances to my manager.”
“Why would you need to explain yourself? I’ll take care of it. I’ll take care of everything. Besides, you should know that I’m not planning on letting you go home tonight.” Heerak sat on the edge of his bed and twisted the cap off to a water bottle. He wrapped Doseon’s hands around it and brought a newly opened bottle to his lips.
