Chapter 8 - All for 40,000 Won
In any case, Heerak needed to end this conversation. He could no longer continue when his head was pounding and he felt miserable.
“Doseon, if there’s anything you want from me, feel free to tell me.”
“Anything I want from you?”
“Yes, cash is fine. A car or a house is fine too. There must be something I could do for you.”
Anything was fine.
As long as the request wasn’t so ridiculous that he would yell “Are you kidding me?!” Heerak had a mind to grant whatever it was that the other man wanted. And whatever that may be, as long as he could exchange it for a single document affirming that Doseon would never bother him about what happened that night, this issue would be solved. Although since he could not erase memories, he would have no choice but to smile bitterly whenever the memory resurfaced.
After some thought, Doseon said in a determined voice.
“I already got what I wanted.”
“You got what you want?”
Did Seokchan take care of it already?
A faint smile spread on Heerak’s lips. Seokchan was quick to do his job, but he didn’t think he would be this fast. He did not think that Seokchan would have already sat down with the other party and went ahead with negotiations before Heerak had the chance to speak with him.
“Did you make a deal with my secretary? Before I came?”
“No, that’s not what happened.”
The serious and stoic face softened just a bit. It was when Heerak was observing the hesitant, downcast eyes that Doseon opened his mouth again.
“To be honest, I have never slept with anyone before. You were my first, Director.”
Heerak bolted up from his seat.
He was so shocked that he stood up unconsciously. Doseon looked up at him with dull eyes. Heerak sat back down. The best he could do right now was to try and keep his face straight.
‘He was a virgin? This is driving me crazy, f*cking hell!’
If Doseon said something old-fashioned like telling him to take responsibility for his first time, Heerak was sure that the calm façade he was barely managing would break down.
“When you grabbed my hand that night, one thought crossed my mind. I thought, when else would I get the chance to sleep with someone like you in my lifetime? I felt extremely fortunate that I could have my first experience with someone like you.”
Before, he was speechless because of the absurdity of the situation. However, now, he had no idea why he couldn’t say a thing. He could only continue to listen with his mouth gaping.
“You might consider that night an unfortunate accident. I am truly sorry about that. But to me, I was left with a good memory of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I’m very grateful for that.”
At the end of his speech, Doseon bowed slightly.
Heerak stared at the man in front of him with a dumbfounded face. Doseon looked like he was waiting for Heerak to tell him to go back to work as usual.
“It was a good memory for you. That’s it? The end?”
Heerak finally said. Although he could manage his facial expressions, he could not hide the astonishment in the tone of his voice.
“Should I need something more than that?”
“I think I would feel better if there was something material involved.”
‘Because it would become extremely annoying and bothersome to deal with if you changed your mind later.’
Heerak pushed down the additional comments that were on the tip of his tongue and instead spat out a bunch of sighs. That was all he could do. But no matter how many times he sighed, he could not get his discomfort to go away.
“You want to pretend this never happened, right?”
He was wondering what Doseon would say, but he was taken aback again. At this point, Heerak thought Doseon was amazing. How could he ask this without so much of a blink of an eye?
Heerak hesitated for a moment.
