Chapter 6: Shopping (2)
“A sister-in-law?” Lin Shaosi was uncomfortable and was kind of agitated when he thought that he was almost seen naked by another person, especially someone who he didn’t even know.
“But, isn’t she’s a little bit smaller and younger for you?”
“Also, you already said before that you don’t want to think about your personal status right at this time. You even said that if you happened to have a girlfriend, and if you would ever plan to bring her home, I shouldn’t be here at all, right?”
Gu Yizhou frowned at his brother’s rumblings. “You talked too much.”
“…” Lin Shaosi quickly shut his mouth.
“I don’t know her, nor do I know her name. As for your question, she has nothing to do with me.” Gu Yizhou roughly explained after he contemplated for a moment.
Lin Shaosi: “…?”
Lin Shaosi pointed at his own head as if motioning his brother’s head while saying, “You’re not going to get confused because of work, are you?”
His cold-blooded second brother brought a girl, who he doesn’t even know, back home and would even let her use their bathroom?
No, it was not his style.
Gu Yizhou knitted his eyebrows and asked, “When did you come home?”
“It’s going to be your birthday soon, right? I’m going to be with the team in two days’ time. So I came here this early just to celebrate your birthday in advance.”
“Hey, you haven’t said anything yet.” He pointed back his finger to the bathroom and curiously asked, “Since you didn’t know her, then why did you bring her here?”
Gu Yizhou hesitated for a moment before he decided looked at his brother. “You… Have you remember what our mother looks like?
The color of Lin Shaosi’s face instantly faded at the mere mention of their mother. Pursing his lips, he lightly asked, “Well, why would you mention her now?”
“It’s because she looks exactly like our mother.” Gu Yizhou amiably said.
Lin Shaosi was pouring a glass water for himself when he heard his brother’s faint words. A small amount of water spilled out on the coffee table as he was slightly distraught at the sudden information. “Are you sure about that?”
He carefully recalled the memories on his mind as he reminisced the face of their mother. Unfortunately, though, it’s only a vague image of her as he could not remember it too well.
“Yes.” Gu Yizhou directly answered.
Gu Yizhou never lies, hence Lin Shaosi could only be so sure that what his brother said was the truth.
Lin Shaosi, then, knew for a second, why his brother would bring her back to his own home. It was because of the fact that the girl had a great resemblance to their dead mother.
“You know, there are many people that possessed similar looks, despite being unrelated to each other. Not just her.” Lin Shaosi carelessly said. As he only remembered the vagueness of his mother’s looks on his memory, he was somewhat unimpressed at his brother’s discovery. “Remember the time when I acted in the film called ‘The Chivalric Knight’, where Zhang Zifeng and the other man have the same appearances.”
Gu Yizhou and Lin Shaosi recognized each other at first glance. Though, it was also because of Lin Shaosi’s great fame that when Gu Yizhou saw him on the television for the first time, he (Gu Yizhou) immediately felt that their uncanny resemblance to each other. Then after a series of circumstances, the two of them acknowledged each other as brothers.
After years of separation, they could finally meet again. After meeting each other, in order to properly understand his brother’s work, Gu Yizhou, who’s the elder brother, watched all the movies Lin Shaosi starred in.
So towards his brother’s previous words, he clearly knew what he’s trying to imply as had an impression of Zhang Zifeng, who he talked about.
He nodded in reply.
“Whenever he acts in the movie, 70% of the shots were done by his substitutes or his stand-ins.”
Gu Yizhou frowned.
“I can’t understand why his stand-in was purposely sought after, as I can’t see their similarities at all. But then, after the makeup was over, the two of them really looked like twins. No one could even tell who’s who as long as one wouldn’t look at them too closely.” Lin Shaosi shrugged and casually added, “The point is, both of them are not even related in the slightest, and yet, they looked so similar to each other. It was just purely coincidence. That’s all.”
Gu Yizhou didn’t speak anymore.
After a while, he said, “Go and change your clothes.”
In Gu Yizhou’s apartment, there was a guest room that’s specially prepared for Lin Shaosi. He immediately heeded his brother’s instruction and change his clothes in his room. As soon as he came out, he noticed that his brother, who had a calm expression on his face, was still standing at the same position where he left him.
“What’s this smell?” Lin Shaosi’s nose slightly twitched as he sniffed it by chance.
Gu Yizhou quickly recovered thoughts from his moment of reverie. He had forgotten that the steak was still frying! He hurriedly went to the kitchen with his large strides.
Lin Shaosi wanted to follow and see what happened in the kitchen. However, at this moment, Gu Yuanyuan came out from the bathroom. She walked cautiously as the slippers were too big for her, and her feet were wet as well. She was afraid that she might accidentally fall if she did not do so.
Earlier, she almost fell over while taking a bath.
As soon as Gu Yuanyuan came out, she instantly looked up to Sanbao. In her mind, she made a mental note to herself. She must trim his sharp claws properly, so that in the future, he would only be able to swing cordially.
Lin Shaosi also looked at her. Since she was brought back by his second brother, he was convinced that this girl really looked like his dead mother, though a little bit younger.
Lin Shaosi flashed his standard and iconic idol smile. With a very polite expression, he gently said, “I’m sorry. I apologize for my rude behavior earlier. I just thought that you’re a paparazzi, secretly sneaking in. Please forgive me for it.”
Gu Yuanyuan: “…”
Seeing his attitude changed too quickly like a flip of a switch, she was a bit uneasy.
“It’s okay.” She said with a kind and loving expression on her face.
Then she asked with curiosity, “A while ago, you flew up. Was that a qīnggōng you used earlier?
