Chapter 6: Shopping (1)
Tears were starting to pool out from Gu Yuanyuan’s eyes as she unconsciously stiffened her body from fear. She was frightened that Sanbao’s hand, which was holding the knife, might suddenly slip off, and accidentally slit her neck in the process.
“Take your knife away from me.” She gently appealed. “First, no one had sent me. Second, I didn’t peek. I didn’t even know you were inside in the first place. And lastly, third, you moved too fast, and the bathtub was also filled with bubbles. So, I have seen nothing at all…”
“Shut up!” Lin Shaosi’s ears and neck turned beet red as the blood on his nerves was clearly boiling from fury. He often avoided and escaped from his fans to the point that he decided to come and live with his second brother, Gu Yizhou. Knowing that his brother would never allow a woman to enter his premises, Lin Shaosi was relieved, finally relaxing his guard and vigilance. However, today, how did the situation suddenly overturned?!
“Okay, let’s say it’s not peeking, but then, why the hell are you still staring at me?!” Lin Shaosi’s handsome face was infused with visible anger. “How did you get in? How did you know that I am here? How many people know about this? Huh?! Are you purposely sent in here? Was this all planned?!”
Gu Yuanyuan: “…”
He couldn’t be blamed for being so frantic and for over-thinking things. He once stayed in a hotel, and somehow, someone had learned the location of his room in advance. Unbelievably so, that someone used a pipe to climb his way up to Lin Shaosi’s window and finally getting inside his room. The man hid under the bed like a panther, hunting in the darkness. And when the middle of the night arrives, that’s when the man decided to come out under it.
This man, however, was a paparazzi. The real reason why he’s doing this was to test out whether or not Lin Shaosi could instantly perceive or detect someone while he was sleeping; just like a true Martial Arts Master in the TV shows.
And now, with this experience of him, he would be able to testify to the countless audience the saying: ‘If one wouldn’t go looking for trouble, one wouldn’t get into trouble’
(e/n: based on what I understand, the saying here goes like this >> ‘什么叫不作就不会死’>> it’s an internet slang which basically means: ‘if one would not go and seek death, one would not die’ )
Lin Shaosi withdraw his arm and put it back in place. Although he had mostly vented out his anger from that incident before, Lin Shaosi still couldn’t help himself but held a deep grudge regarding about it. And ever since then, he was always extremely cautious and guarded wherever he was.
“I’m staring at you not because I wanted to peek, but because you are too good-looking.” Gu Yuanyuan explained as she continued to blink her eyes in trance.
“That… uhm… The shower curtain over there slightly fell off.” She honestly said as she wanted to remind him about his current situation.
Half of Lin Shaosi’s legs were fully exposed.
Noticing this, he hurriedly clutched the shower curtain tighter around him, while Gu Yuanyuan, at the same time, was trembling from anxiety deep inside. Fortunately for her, Lin Shaosi’s hand was very stable and steady. Even though his one hand was constantly adjusting the shower curtain on his body, his other hand that was holding the knife, still remained motionless.
At the moment, the bathroom door was suddenly knocked, and Gu Yizhou’s voice rang from the outside. “What’s the matter?” He asked as he heard the noise inside the bathroom all the way to where he was. Hence, he decided to leave the kitchen and went to the bathroom to check what’s going on.
“Second Brother, you’re already home?” Lin Shaosi froze and was stunned when he heard his brother’s voice.
Gu Yizhou: “…”
Without saying another word, Gu Yizhou abruptly pushed the bathroom door open And there he saw a bewildering sight in front of him, which almost made his eyelids twitch from confusion. He paused for two seconds before he calmly said afterward, “Put the knife down.”
Lin Shaosi turned his gaze at his brother and shifted it back to Gu Yuanyuan again. Unknowingly, the knife on his hand instantly dropped on the floor.
Gu Yuanyuan’s stiffened body started to relax as she perceived that she was already out of the threatening crisis. As of this moment, she took this chance to carefully examine the knife that almost took the living daylight out of her. The knife was, in fact, a small kind of machete (e/n: like throwing daggers). It was thin, short in length, had a very sharp edge, and was coldly glowing from the reflection of light. Making one’s scalp go tingling from the hidden threat.
Gu Yizhou threw the bath towel at Lin Shaosi while saying, “Wrap it around yourself and get out.”
Then, he turned his gaze at Gu Yuanyuan and asked, “Are you all right?”
Gu Yuanyuan shook her head to answer his question. She turned around to let Lin Shaosi freely wrapped the bath towel around himself. After the latter was fully wrapped, he then followed Gu Yizhou out of the bathroom.
Gu Yuanyuan, who was anxious inside, clearly wanted to follow and eavesdrop at what the two brothers were going to talk about. But as she was afraid that she would be discovered if she got too close to the door, Gu Yuanyuan decided to give up her previous thought.
Anyway, knowing that her sons were already grown-ups now and can take care of themselves, Gu Yuanyuan really didn’t think much about it and just started to take her bath.
“Who is she?” Lin Shaosi asked. He was two years younger than Gu Yizhou, and when Gu Yuanyuan was separated from them many years ago, he was also still too young to remember it. After he escaped and unexpectedly arrived at the Shaolin Temple, he had a high fever during that time. So on his mind, the impression of his mother had already blurred out, without even finding this situation strange to him.
“A sister-in-law?” Lin Shaosi was uncomfortable and was kind of agitated when he thought that he was almost seen naked by another person, especially someone who he didn’t even know.
