Chapter 33: Monster (2)
Everyone watched the scene with open eyes. The air was filled with endless silence and sorrow. Someday, will they become like this? The big swords looked at Priya, their eyes filled with desolate sadness. Whereas, Gawain and Attolis looked on silently in stark contrast. They’d suddenly realized this world of theirs was not so simple. It was cruel and hard.
“I see… then please kill me,” Priya bowed her head in defeat, “do it while I have at least the heart of a human…”
“You won’t feel the slightest pain.” There was no expression on Dinessa’s face. Even she had predicted Priya’s end.
But suddenly, a little boy’s face grew rigid. He suddenly noticed a detail that he had missed earlier. Priya’s demon-like hands gently moved towards Dinessa’s big sword. In the midst of all the silence, the little boy’s voice was so loud as he quickly flew out together with a fuzzy object. “Watch out! Dinessa! Protect!”
When everyone saw what was happening, they suddenly understood what it was that was flying far away. The sword in Dinessa’s hand had disappeared and flew out, falling on the ground loudly. It made a sound akin to a bell. Priya had secretly gone to cut off Dinessa’s neck but was instantly blocked by a semi-arc white shield. The white shield rippled and looked as if it’d break, but it never did.
“Dinessa, get down!” Kailar shouted. “Reflect!”
Priya was immediately shot down by her own power.
Taking advantage of the scene, Dinessa retreated a couple steps back as she flew to the air. She did not pursue Priya who was roaring fiercely. She was roaring madly towards the heaven. Priya truly looked like a demon who’d just gotten out from prison that is hell.
“Heal!” Kailar waved his finger and the bloody wound on Dinessa was wrapped by a white light. Soon, she was no longer bleeding and the pain tingling on her arms was no longer there. If anything, it was slightly itchy.
“Go over there!” Kailar looked at Priya vigilantly who was covered with a purple gas, she drew her body back and roared heavily to the heavenly abode. The changes Priya’s body was visible to the naked eye. Her arms became sturdy, and behind her grew two pointy wings. But on her forehead, there were fleshy horns growing unevenly. It was disgusting and it could not compare to the unicorn’s beauty. The unicorn’s horn was completely different. Priya’s curved at a disgusting angle. Moreover, the color was black and grim.
“Enili, what is that?” Kailar looked at Priya who could no longer be recognized with a rather heavy face. He needed urgent intel from Enili.
“This is the evolution beyond the demons! This is completely different from humans. She’s awakening!” Enili’s face morphed. She hadn’t expected that things would turn out like this.
“I want to eat… meat…” Priya stood up. Her teeth were pointy and slobber drooped from her mouth as she slowly moved towards Kailar.
“Let’s go!” The three big swords quickly moved and shouted a battle cry.
“Don’t move!” Kailar jumped off the unicorn and blocked the big swords line of attack. “Please, don’t move!”
His face had never been so grim. The little unicorn kept hissing and treading its hooves anxiously. It was ready to leave but when looking at Kailar, it did not move.
Attolis slowly moved behind Kailar. Traces of fear was written on her face. Gawain fared no better. His trembling body faced the monster with his sword raised high.
When Kailar turned around, he looked at the others seriously with a grim look. “Don’t move… she’s faster than us but don’t think that we can’t do anything. I have a plan!”
