Chapter 32: Monster (1)
“Hey…” Frightened, Gawain shivered uncontrollably. It looked as if the soul in his body left completely. “Kai… what kind of monster is it…?”
The monster, Priya cut through Dinessa, circling her lengthened body around Dinessa. Her blade-like arms stabbed Dinessa’s forehead while Gawain subconsciously turned his head away, frightened from what he’d just seen.
That arms… she’d be able to slice off half my body…
For a while, his body was quivering. It wouldn’t stop even if he wanted to.
“Gawain, it’s alright. We’re in the back.” Kailar wasn’t in the least worried. They weren’t close enough to bear the brunt of the battle between beauty and the beast. Though it looked Dinessa was on the losing end, he felt the tide of the battle would soon change in a blink of an eye. He didn’t want to let go of the chance of witnessing a great battle between two powerful women.
In order to overturn the tides, Dinessa needed to find an opportunity to seize the battle and stop Priya’s killing blow. As for why Priya had turned into that state, he can only ask the Enili and the others.
Suddenly, a violent wave of outburst bursted. A strange purple gas surrounded them. As the three watched what was unfurling before them, they could feel a slight change in Dinessa’s aura.
When she closed her eyes, she looked as if she was focusing on something, and soon, in less than a second, when her eyes opened, albeit abruptly, the color of her orbs changed. The once graceful silver orbs now turned to a deep golden like her wavy hair. Her whole person was now able to keep up with Priya. At this time, the momentum changed and now, Denissa had the upper hand.
“So she’d been hiding her true strength all this time…” Attolis secretly admired her sincerely from afar.
“There’s a lot of things which can be learned from the battle between those two. Make sure to take note.” Kailar said, not once moving his eyes away.
The hillside was parallel and the rocks were surrounded by a flat paved circle, giving room for the two parties to battle. They weren’t afraid. Beauty and the beast used every trick in the book to gain the upper hand.
This was a good way for both Attolis and Gawain to learn. They were both at the peaks of ordinary men and to break through the limits, this was undoubtedly a good way for them to learn.
Stones and grasses flew to the sky as Dinessa’s big sword cut the air in two, forming a tornado-like atmosphere. It was torrential and ordinary people would be afraid of being involved by the two. Their life would have easily torn to pieces if caught under their frightening battle.
“God… these two… if they were our enemy… we wouldn’t be able to do anything…” Gawain and Attolis’ face shone with fear. The more they saw, the more baffled they were.
Enili remained calm and emotionless, just that… her face grew more rigid. “No, if it’s Denisa or Priya, they’re extremely powerful… but… Dinessa’s demonic aura is truly overwhelming!”
Despite the fact that Priya was far superior to Denissa due to her monster-like form, Dinessa looked as if she was not in the least pressured by Priya. She was only retreating here and then, waiting for an opening to strike back.
“Ah, over here.” Kailar spotted Enili and the others from a distant and quickly greeted them.
Though Kailar had many questions he wanted to ask, he buried it deep in the bottom of his heart, too afraid that he’d end up missing the fight between such powerful people.
“Enili, do you think that she…” The short-haired woman asked worriedly.
“No. She hasn’t exceeded her boundaries yet. If we stop Priya, she can still return back to her human side, just that… we are unable to do so. We aren’t strong enough.” Enili’s face was cold and rigid, but as the battle between Priya and Dinessa dragged on and intensified, she could no longer keep her fluctuating emotion in check that she’d unconsciously flung her arms like a whip towards Dinessa.
Even if Priya had turned to a monster, Enili didn’t wish to see any harm done unto her.
Before Enili’s attack could reach Dinessa, she suddenly disappeared in thin air. She was high above, powerfully swinging her sword as she fell. The sword inflicted a great damage on Priya’s shoulder, a deep wound showing that blood gushed out like a waterfall.
At this moment, Dinessa looked just like the god of war and victory was her name.
Even though Priya suffered serious injury and was unable to move, she still had the will to continue. Amidst the pain, Priya managed to trade blows with Dinessa once more, but even then, it was pointless and the backlash of Dinessa’s attack sent her flying backward as blood spewed from her mouth.
“Just a deep cut on Priya’s shoulder had already injured her so badly. So powerful…” Kailar was amazed. He had never seen anything like it.
While the battle was going on, Kailar was explaining to Gawain and Attolis what was happening so they’d understand and be able to clearly process it through.
Priya landed on the ground gasping for air as blood dripped from her body.
“Before you’re still able to understand the language of the humans, listen well. You should understand that this step is important. If you don’t suppress your monstrous side and return as a human, it’ll be too late.” Dinessa said to Priya, a big sword pointing towards her.
“Hnghh… hngghh…” Priya moaned, her saliva drooling from the edge of her lips continuously. She weakly emitted an aura, but nevertheless still powerful yet Dinessa single-handedly blocked it down. Dinessa was like an omnipotent being, the incarnation of a god, her name was synonymous to victory. She was invincible and had easily blocked all of Priya’s attack.
At this point, Priya could no longer make an attack. She laid on the floor weakly, her clothes torn apart. She looked nothing akin to a human.
“Ahh…” Priya moaned and hugged her body. “I can’t go back… I don’t want to be a monster… save… me… please…”
“It’s impossible to save you at this point. You can only take the path of a demon at this point.” Enili’s eyes widened, shocked for the first time.
“I beg you, save me… please…” Priya pleaded painfully like withered grass asking to be revived to its blooming days.
“I’m sorry. I can’t save you,” said Dinessa, “All I can do is cut off your head before you’ve become a demon, a complete monster.”
