Chapter 40 - Prescription

“Hahh.” I subconsciously took a sharp breath. At the same time, a thick cloud of pheromones rushed into the depths of my lungs, blocking my airway. When my breath stopped, Keith abruptly grabbed my head and pulled me in. “…!”

Before I could process what was going on, I opened my eyes wide. Right away, our lips collided, and his tongue slid into my mouth. I almost pushed him away out of reflex. Keith, however, effortlessly grabbed my hand and pressed it down, nullifying my resistance. I struggled but couldn’t win against the sheer force of the hand that was grabbing my head. The cavity of my mouth was helplessly conquered, and my lips were violently bit off. Rubbing against the spreading blood, Keith unreservedly continued to suck as if to devour me entirely.

Our saliva continuously rolled down my throat. I simultaneously recalled the nightmarish memories and began to feel nauseous, but I could neither avoid nor reject him. I gasped for air in fear as I wholly accepted his kiss that was closer to violence than anything. Meanwhile, Keith licked the inner walls of my mouth, rubbed against my skin, and stole my saliva to his heart’s content.

“Very well,” Keith said.

When our lips finally separated, Keith’s breath was as ragged as mine. Amidst the hazy landscape, his golden eyes deeply imprinted themselves—almost amazingly so.

Keith spoke in a low voice, “Move into my place, then. That should solve everything.”

Act 8

For a moment, my mind went completely blank. I couldn’t believe what I had just heard. I gaped, but sound only managed to escape after a few seconds had passed. “Into your house, Mr. Pittman?”

What didn’t sound like my voice slapped my ears. Was my voice always like this? As I just sat there blinking my eyes, he swept up his hair in irritation. For a moment, his moist lips caught my eyes. “There’s no place safer in this world than my house. Isn’t that all you need?”

“B-But—” I had no idea how he had come to that conclusion. However, the answer quickly revealed itself.

“Steward said that one way to overcome fear is to expose yourself to it,” Keith murmured as he pulled out a cigarette. “In your case, pheromones.”

He was referring to none other than the pheromones of an Extreme Alpha—a man who had the same pheromones as those who tried to rape me. The only man who would never lust for me. The man who was completely oblivious to my yearning.

Yours truly, Keith Knight Pittman.

It was just as he said. The memories of that night were no longer lingering in my head. What lingered instead was the man before my eyes.

“Just for me, why…” My voice trailed off timidly.

Keith annoyedly clicked his lighter. “It’s a dirt-cheap price to pay compared to five percent of the company’s stocks.”

I wasn’t sure if I should have been glad that he considered me as such a competent secretary.

“Are you saying that you plan on pouring out your pheromones onto me until my symptoms get better?”

My voice subtly trembled. ‘Has Keith noticed?’ I wondered nervously as Keith, who had inhaled a round of smoke, sighed the smoke back out.

He replied sarcastically, “Why not?”

My lips, which had been healing, began to throb again. I could smell a faint trace of blood. I subconsciously licked my lips, and something other than saliva made my tongue slip. For just a second, I thought that Keith’s gaze had been fixed onto my lips. Perhaps it was just my imagination. His expression remained unchanged.

“…And why the kiss?” I asked, unable to hold back any longer.

Would he blame my pheromones again? I had taken more than the recommended dosage of meds. There was no way he could smell them. In response to my nervous question, Keith knit his brow in frustration. “I was just testing Steward’s prescription.”

‘Ah.’ I was convinced. The quickest and most certain way to affect me with his pheromones was to have intercourse. Instead of inserting himself into me, this man had kissed me. It was just to calm me down and to confirm if Steward was right.
