Chapter 77 - The Proposal
Act 7. Conquer the World Through Cuteness
“That’s amazing,” Luciana replied simply to my aspiration to conquer the world.
“What, that’s it?” I’d spent a lot of time deliberating about this, but she was acting like she was listening to a six-year-old’s future goals. Although…it was true that I was only six years old. Unsure of how to respond to her lukewarm response, I started telling other people, “Did you know that my dream is to conquer the world?” This made the maids laugh.
“Aww, it’ll be easy for you!”
“You’ve already done it!”
“That’s right…with your cuteness!”
“…” Their reactions left me speechless. I was really going to do it! This was so unfair. “I really will conquer the world!” Why wouldn’t they take my words seriously?
“Yes, yes. Of course, our princess can conquer the world.”
“We’ll help you.”
“That’s right, just tell us what to do!”
Pursing my lips, I pouted. The maids saw my puffed cheeks and cooed over me, “How are you so cute even when you’re upset?”
“I bet His Majesty will hand over the world for your squishy cheeks.” I didn’t put it past Miltiades to give me the world, but I didn’t want him to do so. I was conquering the world to save my favorite character! Dejected, I looked at Margaret. She was the only one who hadn’t laughed at my dream yet. Margaret was different, right? Gazing into my sparkling eyes, she chose her words carefully, “It’s good to aspire towards high goals.”
The world had forsaken me. Ludwig’s reaction was better than the others. He suddenly stood up with the holy sword in his hands and announced that he had to train more. When I asked him why, he stated, “If you want a war, I must only bring you victory!”
I was frustrated by his answer, “Stop it.” Was he also messing with me?
Meanwhile, Miltiades’s response after hearing what I had to say was overwhelming, “Where should I start my conquest?” I certainly didn’t need him to do it for me! Callian, who was listening to our conversation, got down on one knee, “I, Callian, will do anything in my power to help you achieve your goals.” Well, I didn’t need him either!

Thanks to this incident, half of the detached palace was blown away, so Miltiades let me stay in the imperial palace until I recovered. Out of everyone, I was the most excited over this arrangement, “Yay!” I wanted to recover slowly so that I could stay as long as possible.
“It seems that a magician from the Northern Tower will come to fix the problem with the barrier.”
“A magician?”
“I also heard the Vatican will be sending over a delegation!”
“Huh?” I had heard some bad news, but I was looking forward to the magician’s arrival. It might be a good chance to get rid of Kais’s subjugation seal. I didn’t know if the crazy magician still wanted to take Kais away. In the novel, Kais didn’t show up after Miltiades refused to help him, but what was going on? Something changed, probably because of me. I didn’t know why the magician was suddenly coming here, but I couldn’t just sit by and let Kais be taken away.
“I need to get rid of the subjugation seal somehow before something like this happens again.” But it was easier said than done. “How upsetting…” This was why the male lead was who he was. Characters like him are fated to go through countless hurdles. “Ah, my plans to give him a happy life…!” I needed to at least protect Kais. I wiped a tear away and made up my mind. I should let Kais go!

Amelia ran into the room and looked at Kais with a sad expression. It was the first time he’d seen her since he was kidnapped. She looked healthy. While Amelia was unconscious, Emperor Miltiades had looked for Kais. Despite the attendant doing his best to hold the emperor back, Miltiades came in looking as if he would destroy everything in his path. “If she doesn’t wake up in one week, you and your brother are doomed,” he warned Kais.
In spite of the threat, the first thing on Kais’s mind was Amelia’s condition, not his and his brother’s lives. All his memories of that day seemed to have disappeared, but he vividly remembered Amelia’s voice calling out to him. It didn’t make sense: why would a master go looking for her slave? It was the first time he’d met a master like her.
“Kais,” a sweet voice brought him back from his thoughts and he looked up. He could see the blossoms in her eyes. These flowers only bloomed in the eyes of those with strong divine power. Whenever Kais saw these eyes, he inadvertently felt like spilling his innermost thoughts. In fact, he wanted to do that right now.
“Kais, do you want to become stronger?” He found it hard to answer the question. “I’ll make you stronger,” said Amelia, as if reading his mind.
