Chapter 62 - New Situations
“Did you know I became a princess?” I asked. Kais looked at me as if to say, ‘So what?’ He embodied the expression so well that I started laughing, which confused him.
“So, aren’t you gonna greet this princess?”
“…”
I tried talking to him in the tone of a royal, and he glared in response. His face was so funny that I burst into laughter again.
“Hey, Kais. It’s a strange feeling. I mean, I knew that I am daddy’s daughter, but seeing the servant add my name to the sheet of paper really brought home that reality for me. I feel like I’ve been accepted by the world and I’m so happy.”
Some people might not understand why it mattered, but I could finally tell them that I had a father.
Kais was dumbfounded, “Why do you like him so much?”
“You like him too.”
Kais made a face, “…He’s dangerous.”
“I know.”
“But you still like him? Why?”
“Because…he’s good-looking…?” I quipped.
“…” Kais didn’t say anything. For some reason, I started giggling.
“To be honest, I don’t know why. Must there be a reason for liking him?” I asked.
Kais didn’t reply.
“Hm, now that I think about it, I remember why. But once I realized what was going on, it was already too late.” My life was changed. Once I started living by Miltiades’s side, my life became fun and exciting. How could I go back to the way I was living before?
“So I’m not sure. I don’t even remember back when I didn’t like him,” I said, beaming, while Kais gazed at me. “But it’s fine, I’m happy. It’s a blessing to have someone to love in this world.”
“A blessing?”
I nodded. “It makes me live my life to the fullest today and look forward to tomorrow,” I said seriously. “I treat everything I have with care. Love adds so much to your life.” I wanted Kais to experience it someday as well.
“In that sense, I like you, Kais,” I said, my eyes sparkling.
“…” Kais didn’t tell me to get lost like he usually did. ‘Is he confused? Surprised?’ I didn’t know what he was thinking, but it was fun to watch his reaction. His cheeks and ears seemed a bit red.
“Don’t say that to random people you know.”
“I don’t say it to random people.”
“…”
“Are you just a random person to me?”
“…” Kais was silent. I couldn’t contain my laughter, and he frowned. “Get out,” he finally said. His expression was so cute that I felt an urge to pinch his cheeks.

“Ah, it’s fun messing with children.”
Luciana gave me a look of pity, “You’re a child, too.”
“Hehe,” I grabbed her hand and badgered her a bit, “I want to see Daddy.”
“We’re on our way to see him right now.”
“Then let’s hurry. I wanna see him!”
I started running in excitement and Luciana shook her head. The one thing I liked about being in a child’s body was that people would help me when I wanted to see my dad. ‘These dumb adults. They don’t know my true thoughts!’
When we got to the palace, Luciana went to speak with the servants, while I headed for the office. ‘Let’s surprise him! Will he be surprised if I jump out all of a sudden?’ But as I walked towards the door, I realized it was slightly ajar.
“…So we still don’t know its location. Do you think the Pope realizes that we’re looking for it?”
‘The Pope? Its location? What are they talking about?’ I blinked and concentrated on the voices.
“Not a chance. He wouldn’t have left us alone if he did.”
“We think it’s probably in the Vatican. We’ll have to start over.”
Miltiades seemed to be looking for something. But I couldn’t hear very well because their voices were muffled.
“…The holy relics…”
“…I know. You have to…find them.”
“But… no chance…”
“Get them, even if that means you have to kill everyone.”
I was so shocked at his bloodlust that I stepped away from the door. ‘There’s some holy relic that’s making Miltiades this obsessed?’ It was never mentioned in the novel, and I was so shocked that my heart began racing.
I was trying to calm myself down when I heard Miltiades’s cold voice, “There’s a rat hiding somewhere.” I blinked in awkward silence. It seemed he had noticed me.
I had two options: run or get caught.
“Ta-da! The rat is here!” I chose to go inside.
As I pushed open the door, I heard someone sigh deeply. I knew that Luciana was hiding her face in embarrassment.
“…” Miltiades had a strange expression on his face. From the looks of it, he didn’t know that I was the one who was hiding.
“Aaah! So cute!” I started running in excitedly when Callian appeared out of nowhere to drag a man outside.
“…?”
Something was going on.
