Chapter 28 - Male Lead’s Brother

Ludwig happily looked at the holy sword. ‘And I received a present before His Majesty Miltiades.’

Amelia didn’t know this, but Ludwig had a huge sense of loyalty.

Ludwig didn’t know how she knew about the secret passage, but he and the paladins had gone through the secret passage. They listened to her command.

“Ludwig. This is something only you can do.”

“I will definitely do it.”

“Okay, I’ll trust you!” Amelia beamed. 

Ludwig felt that he could do anything to protect that smile. He raised his holy sword and went off alone.

The most important thing to consider in saving Kais’ younger brother was time. Thankfully, the situation wasn’t bad. ‘Daddy’s at the front, and Ludwig’s in the secret tunnel. I don’t think anyone will be in the underground prison.’ There wasn’t anyone to stop me.

I knew this location’s real identity. It was the lab for a crazy magician.

“Saintess, please be careful.”

“Okay.”

The entrance to the underground prison was small. The dark prison was engulfed in a horrible smell and strange atmosphere. Anyone would go crazy in this place inside a month.

‘Ludwig needs to break the seal soon.’ 

The seal on the underground prison was at a different location to hide the truth. I was impatiently waiting when I heard a familiar voice in my head.

“Wait a bit.”

It was Sophia’s voice.

I opened my eyes in shock and the scenery in front of me changed. “…!”

The shocked paladins tightly held onto their swords. The scene in front of us was carnage.

“This is!”

“Oh, God Almighty…”

“How could this be!”

Man-made beasts, human-beast mixed beings, and sacrificed humans were all around the prison. The crazy magician was researching ‘How to make humans into beasts.’

I screamed at the paladins who couldn’t do anything in front of this cruel scene. “Focus! Some people might still be alive here. We have to save everyone.”

The paladins got their wits together and yelled, “That’s right, we have the saintess on our side!”

“Let’s save everyone!” I tilted my head at the paladins’ overwhelming auras, but let it go. I showed them the safest way to get rid of the beasts.

“He should be around here.” I looked at the people trapped in the prison.

“Oh! God almighty! We’ve been saved!”

Thankfully, most of the people in the prisons were alive. I pretended to heal them as I looked around. ‘I’m pretty sure the male lead’s younger brother is here. So where is he?’

Suddenly, a negative thought came to my mind. ‘Is he already dead? Was he used as an experiment?!’ “That can’t be. Calm down.”

There was still one area we hadn’t checked. I looked at the shaded walls of the prison and found a brick that didn’t fit into place. I pressed the brick and there was a huge creaking sound as the area shook. 

“…!” There was a huge area at the end of a hallway. I got nervous looking at the area that was even darker than the underground prison.

“Saintess.”

I didn’t know when he had returned, but Ludwig was standing next to me. I could see Sophia’s holy sword shining.

‘We have the holy sword. It’s going to be fine.’ I quickly grabbed Ludwig’s sleeve and pulled on it. “Over here, Ludwig! Let’s go!”

My heart was opposed to the idea of going into the darker area, but I had no choice.

“…!”

After we went in, we saw a countless number of humans and beasts that couldn’t be saved anymore.

“Saintess!” Ludwig hugged me and destroyed the beast that had attacked me.

The beast turned to dust at the touch of the holy sword, and I found the male lead’s younger brother who I had been searching for.

“Ludwig! Let’s go!” I urgently screamed and Ludwig brandished his sword.

The beast that was trying to eat Kais’s younger brother died to the holy sword’s light.

Crash!

My worry about failing to recognize the male lead’s younger brother was not needed. The brothers’ handsome features seemed to be genetic.
