Chapter 25 - The Rescue

I blinked. It was a strange situation where I had figured out the male lead by his beauty. The author had mentioned that the male lead’s face was so attractive that it brightly shone and screamed, ‘I’m the male lead!’

“Hi!” I went close to him and greeted him, but he glared at me. His gaze that didn’t feel like a child’s shocked me. “What’s your name?”

“Get lost.”

“…? Your name is Get lost?”

The male lead made a face and ignored me.

“Let’s at least greet each other.” I tried to be kind to him, but the male lead continued to be cold. He tried to push me away, but he was so strong that I fell over. “Ouch!”

The area around us suddenly quieted, and everyone looked at us. Miltiades’s expression darkened.

“Saintess.” Luciana tried to help me up, but I rejected her and stared at the male lead.

I raised my hand toward him. “Help me up.”

“…?”

“You pushed me. Help me and apologize.”

“Why should I?” he retorted.

“Haha. Your personality’s so bad.” I was certain he was the male lead with his kind face and bad attitude. ‘How did he and Priscilla fall in love…?’

“What’s going on?”

I didn’t know when he got here, but Miltiades came up to us. Looking at the dangerous atmosphere around him, I could tell he came after seeing me fall. “It’s nothing! I just said hi!”

Miltiades scoffed, “Do you say hi by pushing people nowadays?”

“Yep!”

Miltiades held me. I was even happier than I would’ve been if the male lead had helped me, but then I saw Miltiades’s cold gaze settle on the male lead. ‘That’s his expression when he’s debating on how to kill someone.’ I couldn’t let the male lead die like this. He couldn’t even die!

The male lead looked Daddy up and down. I didn’t know if he was amused but Miltiades turned to Berrict. “You picked him up?”

Berrict awkwardly laughed. “Yes. He was making a disturbance at the border, so I brought him here.” Berrict’s life was at stake because of the male lead. After all, my dad didn’t know what mercy was.

Most adults couldn’t meet Miltiades’s eyes, but Kais did as he looked Miltiades straight in the eyes. Was it because he was the male lead? I was able to overcome it because of my love, but it hadn’t been easy!

“Save me.” The male lead’s expression distorted as he said, “My brother is in danger.”

‘His brother…’ I blinked. I realized why Berrict had captured the male lead. ‘This was when he had lost his mind after finding out he was the only one who survived the destruction of his village, while everyone else was captured.’ To be honest, they took the male lead so that they could ransack the village. Kais knew this as well.

I needed to help him no matter what. I nervously looked at Miltiades, only to watch him say, “Why should I help you?”

“…!” My heart fell at his cold demeanor. He was raising the death flag!

The male lead’s expression froze. ‘Dad! You can’t touch him. You’ll die!’ I couldn’t let this happen—I had to do something. “Let’s help him!”

“…?”

Everyone looked at me. I tried to be as adorable as possible while talking. “I’m the angel of love and affection, no—The Saintess! I can’t leave him alone! Let’s help him, Daddy!” I made sure that the male lead knew I was helping him out, then turned to Miltiades. ‘Daddy, please.’

“You can do it!” ‘Please! Does he think I’m doing this for myself?’ I was trying to save him.

In the midst of my efforts, the male lead made a face as if I was being weird. ‘What is he looking at? Why isn’t he begging?’ I poked his side, but he didn’t do anything. I sighed at him while he stared at Miltiades. ‘Ah! He doesn’t know how to live in society.’

Right when I thought everything was over…
