I Adopted a Villainous Dad - Chapter 217
Callian, already having grasped the situation after judging the atmosphere, expressed his condolences.
“Well done, Amel.” Miltiades was the only one happy. He could not read the atmosphere and supported me, “Keep doing what you did.”
I laughed at his ignorant words, deciding to let it go because of how cute he was.

Miltiades called an emergency meeting, the participants being Miltiades himself, Callian, Achillios, Enoch, and Berrict. It seemed like the meeting was because of the events that had occured in the meeting room earlier today, but the reality was different.
“The b**tard is back,” Miltiades spat out.
Berrict smirked, knowing that the ‘b**tard’ Miltiades was referring to was his own disciple, Kais.
“Why is he not dying?” Miltiades questioned, and everyone turned to look at each other’s faces.
Berrict laughed again.
For Miltiades, it was a serious question. He had sent Kais to places so dangerous that others would have died just by entering them, but Kais was completely fine. Miltiades had expected him to at least get hurt—if not die—in one or two such places, but only had Kais returned unharmed, he had single-handedly built up a reputation.
Now, Kais had become the best knight in Rahel—in name and in actuality—and no matter what Miltiades ordered him to do, he could carry out all orders with ease. All orders, aside from an order to die.
Miltiades was the most angered by this situation. ‘I thought if he faced some deadly obstacles, he would leave my daughter alone.’
But of course, inexplicable things continued to happen.
Even Kais had thought it would be tough to overcome the obstacles, and was convinced he would embrace death, but he kept coming back alive.
“Does luck follow him?”
Berrict laughed again as he realized that Miltiades still did not know that the saintess was protecting Kais from somewhere.
Berrict and Achillios exchanged a glance and smiled. Callian and Enoch, oblivious to the circumstances, also exchanged a glance and cocked their heads to the side.
“Is there any way to do it?” Miltiades sought their advice.
“Please give up.”
“Yes, I think you should give up.”
From their perspective, Berrict and Callian had recommended the fastest way.
“I support His Majesty. Fighting!” said Enoch.
Achillios smiled and clenched his fist, causing Enoch to silently back away from him.
As Miltiades listened to the unhelpful bastards, his mood dropped more and more.
“But, Your Majesty, why do you hate Kais so much?” asked Berrict.
Miltiades stared at Berrict, questioning how he did not already know the reason.
Berrict laughed out loud. “Even if Kais likes the princess, don’t you know better than anyone that it will never work out?”
Miltiades smiled as Berrict chided him. “Don’t you know my daughter? Our little girl can and will do anything she wants.”
Everyone, including Berrict, was at a loss for words at the proud, sassy remark.
“Then, isn’t it futile for Your Majesty to do this anyway?” Callian pointed out sharply, causing Miltiades to frown.
‘If Amel really wants it, I won’t be able to stop her,’ he thought. Miltiades knew her better than anyone. He just wanted to delay it, and…
“She constantly keeps smiling at only him.”
The rest of the people in the room were stunned at the jealous observations.
“She keeps smiling when she sees that b**tard!” Miltiades clenched his fists and smashed the desk.
Excluding the indignant emperor, they all looked at each other in disbelief. This was all just because of that?

I burst into laughter at the story Achillios told me. “Really, my dad is so cute I can’t stand it. Oh, why is he being so cute?”
“The only person in the world who would find His Majesty cute is you, Master.”
“Aww, so adorable.” I could do nothing but laugh at the thought of Dad not wanting to lose his position as my favorite. How cute! He was thinking such nonsense again. “So that’s why he was competing against Kais like a child?”
“Yes.” Achillios shrugged. “Although, he failed.”
