Chapter 10 - Please Give Me A Name
‘He’s Ludwig of the Holy Sword.’
However, Ludwig had yet to gain the Holy Sword.
In the original novel, Ludwig didn’t guard Priscilla, but stayed here and trained. He swore loyalty to Priscilla only after becoming an adult and gaining the Holy Sword.
This meant that he might not get the Holy Sword this time.
‘Isn’t that cruel to Ludwig?’
“Yes. Tell me what you need, saintess.”
“Do you want to hold the Holy Sword?”
“Excuse me?” Ludwig looked at me in shock. “How can I….”
It was obvious that he had never even thought about it. The reason was understandable.
“Not right now. I’ll give you a chance.”
It wasn’t easy to get a chance to hold the Holy Sword. I asked him again.
“Do you want to?”
If he didn’t want to, there would be no need to bother with this matter. However, he was Ludwig.
Ludwig controlled his emotions and nodded.
“If it’s you, you can do it.”
‘You held the Holy Sword with your own strength before.’
The adoption process proceeded smoothly. There were a few bumps on the road, but it went smoother than I thought.
“Since this is the Holy Empire, everything works out if I use God’s name.”
I felt a bit guilty, so I put my hands together to pray.
‘God, I believe that you’ll forgive me for my white lie! Please! You can’t betray me later!’
“Ah, I’m still nervous.”
It was unfortunate that I couldn’t write up a contract with God.
I put my face on the frame and looked out the window. The once-deserted Vatican was full of people.
“I guess it’s because I’m moving.”
Miltiades wanted to go back to the Northern Empire, so we were leaving two months earlier than expected.
We didn’t have much time to prepare, but I wasn’t lazing around either.
“Study the basics, don’t forget your prayers, and meet with the pope!”
And one more thing.
There was something I never forgot to do, no matter how busy I was.
As soon as I saw Miltiades in the distance, I shouted and ran toward him.
I didn’t know if it was because of the prior event, but Miltiades had started treating me gently.
‘But he’s still scary in other people’s eyes!’
I ran toward him as fast as I could. He lightly held me up and looked at me with a warm expression.
I couldn’t forget to fangirl over my favorite character! It was the only thing I could never give up even if I had to go to school or work!
‘I loved my favorites even when they were locked in the monitor or the pages of a book!’
My love could overcome dimensions, and no one could stop it.
“Daddy, you’re sparkling today. What did you eat? Handsomeness?”
I had the most fun when Miltiades couldn’t react to my teasing.
“Why is your name Daddy? It’s cute.”
I heard Luciana whisper that his name wasn’t Daddy, but I didn’t give up.
“Daddy, I think you’re of mixed blood! You’re a half angel and half Rahelian!”
He had enough time to get used to it by now, but he still couldn’t adjust well.
“You’re here, saintess,” Callian kindly smiled at me and greeted me.
I stared at him.
He was a good person, and I liked him too. However, it was burdensome that he wanted to be close to me.
Callian took out a piece of candy. “Saintess, would you like some of this?”
I calmly stayed in Miltiades’s arms and squeezed his hand.
“Sir Callian, the Saintess is quite shy.”
“Ah, I see.”
Luciana replied to Callian in my stead and I saw his face fall. Then, Miltiades took the candy that was in Callian’s hands and showed it to me.
“Will you eat it?”
‘If my dad’s giving it to me, of course, I will!’
Callian smiled when he saw me laughing with the candy. If I were in his place, I would have been upset. His happy expression even made me feel guilty.
‘Maybe, I should be nicer to him.’
“What are you doing at this time? Don’t you need to pray right now?”
“Ah, you know my schedule. I knew you loved me lots!”
Miltiades closed his mouth. I laughed at how cute he was and grabbed his sleeve.
His words were right.
There was something I needed to tell him.
“I have a request for you, Daddy!”
I nodded at his question.
“Please give me a name!”
