Chapter 5.2: Soft Rice Giant
… … …
There is nothing for him here, nothing to clean, nothing to bring. Everything belonged to his ex-wife’s family so Shen Lang left with nothing.
Life waits for no one, especially for him. He needed to hurry and find his own soft rice giant.
The door slammed open and an arrogant man rushed in. It was the Xu Family’s butler with four martial practitioners standing behind in formation.
The butler pointed his fingers towards Shen Lang, his voice sharp and indignant.
“Shen Lang, you dare?! You are but a poor country village boy! Our Xu Family took you in from the kindness of our heart but you not only steal money from us, you dare have the guts to assault our female servants!
“These crimes should have you killed alive this instant, but my Xu Family are good people. We, of course, will spare your poor dogged life! Our master has rescinded the marriage between you and Miss Xu Qianqian.
“You are banished from the Xu Family House! Banished!”
Shen Lang chuckled inwardly. So… not only do they wish to drive him away ever so persistently, was it necessary to pour dirty water on him?
He’d never once touched a coin in his life much less half a silver coin. How then could he steal?
As for assaulting their female servants, that’s absurd. He’d never stoop that low—it’d be a perfect violation of the handsome gentleman-like image he’s attempting to cultivate. Besides, he was sick and near his deathbed before unless… it was the female servant who assaulted him!
“If you wish to keep you and your family’s life intact, keep your mouth shut!”
The butler sneered.
“Ah, that’s right, I almost forgot… you’re a brain dead fool! You wouldn’t understand. Alright, I’ll make it clear for you. When you go out, you will say you stole money and assaulted our female servant hence the reasoning for expelling you from our Xu Family House. If you say anything else, your whole family will suffer. Understand?”
“Yes, I understand.” Shen Lang replied.
“Get out of here!”
“I will go now.” Shen Lang turned and began walking away.
“Stop!” Suddenly, the butler’s face grew dark and solemn. “Search his body. His hands and feet aren’t yet cleansed of his sin. Do not allow him to steal a sliver of our Xu Family’s belongings.”
Several servants waiting on standby outside the hall swiftly rushed in and searched Shen Lang in and out till he was left with nothing, not even his pride and dignity.
“Your clothings are made of fine silk. Though they’re only worth a few silver coins, it belongs to our Xu Family. A fool like you won’t have a chance to wear something like this again. Isn’t it good you experienced such heaven for a short while?”
The butler sneered and waved his hand.
“Take him away!”
It was in this way that Shen Lang was coldly driven out of the mansion by the Xu Family’s servants.

After his expulsion, the female servants looked towards the direction he was driven out disgustingly.
“The trash is finally gone.”
“That village boy has been living off of our Xu Family’s wealth. It is already good he’s able to experience such blissful moments.”
“Our young lady is truly kind and magnanimous. Being with the toad has already tarnished the name of our young lady.
“But he really is handsome…”
“So what if he’s handsome? Can he provide for you? Can he give you wealth? Can he give you what you desire? He’s a fool that can’t compare to a pig. Totally useless.”
The Xu Family’s mansion was dozens of acres long. Walking from one end to another would take a couple minutes long.
“Go back to where you came from, stupid dog!” Said a young male servant before kicking his buttocks out of the mansion.
Shen Lang stumbled, finding himself with great difficulty regaining his balance.
The door from behind slammed shut.
Shen Lang sighed and looked high above the evening sky.
The bright moon lit brightly above the deep azure.
He stood there with eyes closed for a short moment thinking of other matters. Thereafter, his eyes opened and he began walking northwest—the direction where his family lived.
The direction from the Xu Family Manor to his home was more than forty miles long. It’d be a long night’s journey.
After a few hundred meters of walking, Shen Lang looked back. His eyes turned cold. He’d soon retaliate back in no less than three days! And then… his revenge would continue. He’d avenge the sufferings he faced from dawn till sunset until he was satisfied.

Xu Qianqian stood atop the high balcony and looked at Shen Lang’s fading figure.
“That kid could be said to have lived a good life.” The voice of a middle-aged man echoed. He is the master and the pillars of the Xu Family, Xu Jiazhu.
“Father, we’ve caused him many troubles today.” Xu Qianqian frowned. “I am against this.”
“We’ve no choice.” Xu Jiazhu sighed. “Zhang Jin must see this scene. We need a powerful backing to support our family. Zhang Jin is the best son-in-law our family could have. It is of the utmost importance we make him happy. As for the reputation of our Xu Family, it matters not.”
“Alright.” The ephemeral beauty responded.
“Besides, Shen Lang is a stupid fool. He won’t talk about this matter when going back to his family.” Then, his voice turned cold. “But of course, if he dares talk nonsense, he and his family will suffer a painful death.”
Xu Qianqian frowned.

The night was silent and deathly still, yet the moonlight continued to shine bright and proud.
Shen Lang faced many troubles on the road. Ten miles in, several black shadowy figures suddenly appeared in front of him. There were five of them, three in front and two in the rear.
Here in the dark wilderness, no one would see anything.
“Shen Lang, come and take a trip with us.”
A strip of clothing was tied around Shen Lang’s mouth making him unable to speak, and another clothing strapped around his eyes making him unable to see.
The five figures took Shen Lang inside the dense, lush forest, walking nearly a quarter of an hour. Soon after, they stopped their movement and untied the covers veiling Shen Lang’s eyes.
The first thing Shen Lang saw was a chaotic mess. A total of eight figures circled around him. Four carried sharp daggers while the other four dug a hole—a long, deep hole.
“Help them dig the pit!” A voice commanded. “Drop Shen Lang in the pit then fill it up with dirt, burying him alive. Remember to lit some candles so he won’t get too cold.”
So… their plan was to bury him alive! Any attempts of escape would only lead to failure. He’d be killed instantly by those sharp daggers.
Shen Lang’s a beautiful man. How can he allow himself to die shortly after having lived again? He won’t allow it.
“Stop!” Shen Lang exclaimed. “Gang Leader Tian, you will die soon!”
