Chapter 83: Wu Anan
Wu Anan was beautiful. Her 17-year-old body had grown into a woman’s. She had curves in all the right places but delicately fit in the palm of your hand. Her wide school uniform couldn’t cover up her shapely figure. After she finished her self-introduction at the podium, the boys burst into cheers.
The homeroom teacher glared at them.
The boys restrained their excitement as they all stared at Wu Anan, wondering who their teacher would arrange for her to sit with.
The teacher stood on the podium and shouted, “Lin Xinyu!”
Lin Xinyu, who had been looking out of the window, turned around and looked at the podium.
The teacher said, “Wu Anan will be staying at the same table as you from now on.”
“Oh,” he uttered and casually turned his head to stare at the scenery outside the window. He wondered, What could Lin Xin be doing now?
The girls in the class were all in an uproar. The transfer student would sit at the same table as the male god; this increased the probability of him being snatched.
Hearing that she would sit at the same table as Lin Xinyu, Wu An was also surprised for a moment before she walked over with a smile. Lin Xinyu turned his head away indifferently, ignoring her friendly smile.
Under the scrutinizing gaze of the class, Wu Anan’s smile was awkward. She walked over to Lin Xinyu’s side and sat down beside him; she then took out a book as the class began.
Seeing how Lin Xinyu ignored Wu Anan, the girls in class rejoiced inwardly; it seemed that their god won’t be easily snatched.
Wu Anan couldn’t keep up with the teacher’s pace. During their first class, she noticed Lin Xinyu swiftly gliding his pen over the exercise book in such a way that it seemed to fly.
Thinking he must have understood the lesson, she asked, “How do I do this question?”
Lin Xinyu glanced at the math problem she was pointing to and handed over the exercise book he had answered. Wu Anan looked at the detailed answers written for the questions but still didn’t understand.
“What does that mean?”
Lin Xinyu didn’t want to talk to her.
Besides the fact Lin Xin told him not to interact with Wu Anan too much, he didn’t really like her in the first place.
Back at the orphanage, she was one of those who would isolate him from the rest of the kids. When he thinks about it now, he couldn’t imagine how stupid he was to think that everything was his fault.
He didn’t hate her, but he still couldn’t face her as if she were a stranger. “I don’t really understand either. You can ask the teacher.”
Wu Anan knew that she used to give Lin Xinyu the cold shoulder when they were young; and to add salt to injury, she even advised Lin Xin to ignore him. It wasn’t shocking for him to not like her.
Wu Anan did not put on airs and said thank you before copying the correct answer. She then mingled with other people and asked them about the lesson; Just like in the orphanage, building a good rapport with people came easy to her.
She was pretty and looked like she came from a good family. The boys fought to solve the problem for her. Not long later, a crowd already surrounded her.
Without Lin Xin, Lin Xinyu endured the long day until the school closed.
On his way out of school, he saw a black Audi parked at the entrance. A tall, sturdy man with black sunglasses was sitting behind the wheel.
When he saw the school gate open, he got out of the car, opened the door, and respectfully called out, “Second Miss!”
As his hand gripped the door handle to open the door for her, his wrist revealed a tattoo vaguely reminiscent of a flood dragon’s claw.
T/N: A mythical creature capable of invoking storms and floods.
Lin Xinyu turned around and saw Wu Anan walking out of the gate with her backpack on her back.
Wu An smiled at Lin Xinyu and asked, “Do you want me to send you home?”
Lin Xinyu shook his head and walked along the zebra crossing to the bus stop on the opposite side of the road. He watched as Wu Anan boarded the black Audi, and soon the car sped away leaving a cloud of dust.
Lin Xinyu thought, How did she get involved with the underworld? That man even called her Second Miss, so her status wasn’t low. However, this had nothing to do with him.
