Chapter 30 – Dreams, Little Change
Nan Yan’s breath was obstructed, but she had no time to react because she felt a heavy weight on her wrist. She was fiercely pulled down and fell heavily on the bed.
Zhu Feng’s bed was neither soft nor hard. And when she fell, she hit her head on the headboard giving out a low cry and feeling a little dizzy.
Nan Yan was surprised when she looked up again, a sharp and long sword came up to her throat.
A long sword which Zhu Feng had put under his pillow. At that moment, she was pressed under him and as fast as lightning Zhu Feng had used his back hand to pull out his long sword,
She trembled slightly and felt the sharp sword which was only a hair’s breadth away from the skin of her neck. She knew that if she moved a little, the sword edge would cut her throat.
Nan Yan was terrified and said:
Zhu Feng flipped them over and covered her body with his own. Hidden in the depth of his deep black eyes their seemed to be a faint flame burning. The flame made his breath hotter and hotter like a beast’s breath.
Zhu Feng’s voice sank:
“What are you doing?”
Although he had woken up and pulled out the long sword from under his pillow, he seemed to be trapped in a dream. Even the person in front of him was somewhat indistinguishable.
He only used his wild instincts to deal with the people who come close to him when he was sleeping.
His hand physically exerted even more pressure to her neck and almost pierced her skin.
Nan Yan tried to speak, but was too nervous and could not even speak her words clearly:
Her eyes were red with anxiety, but she could not speak.
The sharp blade of the long sword shone coldly before her eyes, as if death was impending.
Just then, he heard a ‘Clang’ sound in his ears.
Something had fallen to the ground.
This sound of something falling was a little like a divine light. Zhu Feng was shocked and he looked around. A fan had fallen from Nan Yan’s hand to the ground.
His confused mind seemed to think of something and then he looked back. Only then could he see this little woman who was pressed down by him, pale and panic.
Zhu Feng eyebrows tightened:
“What are you doing with a fan!?”
Until this time, Nan Yan finally found her voice:
“Th-th-this servant approached Your Highness to cool you down with a fan.”
“Your Highness, just a moment ago, seemed to be a bit unwell….so this servant—-”
Her voice kept shaking and she could not finish what she was saying. But Zhu Feng understood what she meant. Looking back at the fan on the ground, his brows frowned even more tightly.
Tonight, he slept a bit deeper than usual and because he was dreaming.
Once again it was that strange dream. Since he was a sensible person, he had been puzzled by this dream since he started having it. In his dream he was always in the deepest part of a wasteland. His eyes were covered by heavy fog. Furthermore there was yellow sand everywhere. It was so dark he could barely see his hands in front of him.
This dream. Every time he entered, it was like there was a person squeezing his throat. Suffocating him.
He wanted to get rid of it. Even though he never believed in supernatural things, he asked He Yi if he could dispel his dream with his Taoist Exorcism. But He Yi only said that this was his internal demon and an external force could not dispel it. He was still being attacked by such nightmares.
But tonight, the reason for him sleeping deeper was that there seemed to be some changes in the dream.
