Chapter 21 – Not Touched By a Man
Zhu Feng’s brows wrinkled as he said:
Nan Yan stared at him blankly.
Then, she saw his forehead with beads of sweat dripping down his chin. Nan Yan immediately turned her back to him and hastily took out her handkerchief from her sleeve and handed it over to Zhu Feng so he could wipe the sweat. He took the double edged sword and tossed it without care to Ye Zheng, then turned around and entered Wu Ying Palace Hall.
Nan Yan halted in place, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Ye Zheng held up with both hands the sword, and looked back at her: “Miss Si, quickly come in, Wang Ye still needs to change clothes.”
She hurriedly followed after him and walked inside Wu Ying Palace Hall.
Because of the fire, the Hall of Peace and Union burned down overnight. The Imperial Inner Court it is still somewhat messy and has not been completely tidied up. Moreover, Zhu Feng’s identity was still only the Yan Wang. Therefore, he temporarily stayed at the Wu Ying Hall, located at the northwest corner of Fengtian.
There were not many things here. For the time being, only a bed was arranged, with a simple and crude wooden frame. Zhu Feng was accustomed to this due to his life in a military camp. Despite the bed being even more simple and crude this time, he was not at all disheartened.
Ye Zheng took the long double edged sword and inserted it back into the scabbard that hung on the pillar. Afterwards, he turned around and saw that Zhu Feng was already standing at his bedside with his arms stretched. But Nan Yan looked as if she did not know what she was supposed to do and stood absentmindedly in the center of the hall.
He hurried over and whispered:
“You should probably give Wang Ye a change of clothes.”
Nan Yan rushed over. She had never provided people with clothes to wear, let alone providing them to a “stranger”. Particularly when the other person’s whole body was dripping with sweat. Though, contrary to her initial expectations, Zhu Feng’s sweat did not stink, however there was a strong smell. It was as if the smell belonged solely to him. Along with his whole body emitting heat, it was constantly fumigating her face.
Nan Yan was too flustered to fasten his belt properly and her hands trembled while doing her job.
Zhu Feng bowed his head and looked at her. This servant girl all along, had her head lowered, seemingly not wanting people to see her face. But from his point of view, the end of her ears were turning red.
Actually, he had forgotten that she was a female page.
She came from a good family and compared with an ordinary palace maid she was different. He was afraid that the night prior, she still had not even been touched by a man.
Had not been touched by a man……
Not knowing why, he originally merely dodged this idea, however he turned the idea around in his head and all of a sudden the idea flashed back into his mind.
What was going on with him?
At this moment, his belt was properly fastened and Nan Yan hastily took a step back. Emitting a gentle tone, she said:
“Your Highness, it is done.”
When she raised her head and looked up, she discovered that Zhu Feng was looking at her with a somewhat burning gaze .
That emotion showing in his eyes was somewhat odd.
Zhu Feng heard her voice and he suddenly woke up. He reached out and touched the loosely clothed belt. He turned back and walked away.
After having breakfast, sometime between 7-9 am, it was already time to leave.
As soon as they went out from Wu Ying Palace Hall, the Fengtian Palace Hall could be seen ahead. The sunshine straightened the illusion to the multi colored glazed roof tiles and produced a dazzling light for the eyes. Zhu Feng paused and looked at the dazzling rays. After a while, he turned around and went to the Imperial Canopy hall.
Si Nan Yan followed closely behind him. At this time, she had the opportunity to take a look at the surroundings. That night, the entire Imperial city sank into chaos, dead bodies were scattered on the ground, it was a bloodbath.
Presently, all the dead bodies were moved out. The bloodstains were mostly washed away. In a few stone step corners merely a bit of blood was left. There still remained a small blood stain, exuding an acidic smell.
And when she looked up, finally. Near the Imperial Canopy hall, her breath immediately stifled.
It was the Emperor’s Qin Palace, the Hall of Peace and Union. That night she had escaped from that place.
Now, not even a fragment of a wall remained.
