Chapter 96 - Blurred Lines
It seemed she was also aware he didn’t call back. Woojin’s mood brightened, and he furtively responded, “It was hard to find the right time to call because of the time difference. I didn’t want to wake you. Were you waiting for me?”
As he waited for a response, Woojin raised his exquisite face, causing Hyein to blush and bite her lip. She didn’t deny it. Surprised, he tried to examine her reaction, only for her to suddenly avoid his gaze. Bristling, he snaked an arm around her waist and tugged her close. Hyein, caught off-guard, quickly grabbed his shoulder.
“Just what are you—” Before she could finish her sentence, her slim body was placed on top of his leg. Now that she was perched on top of him, they were now eye-to-eye. Unable to hide her embarrassment, Hyein quickly checked to see that the door to the office was closed. When she turned back to face Woojin, he took advantage of this moment of distraction to gently kiss her. Before she realized it, she barked out a laugh.
“That’s playing dirty.”
“It was just a kiss.”
“We’re at the office, sir.”
“Isn’t that why people have office romances? There’s no need to worry. No one can enter without my permission.”
As if those words didn’t fully put her at ease, Hyein squirmed. It was then that Woojin slyly slid a hand under her uniform shirt and lightly tickled her. Instinctively, she bent her waist, bringing her face even closer to his. Once again, their eyes met. But just as he moved his lips to bring them into another searing kiss, he suddenly stopped, his brows furrowing as if he saw something he was displeased with.
“What happened to your face?”
Puzzled, Hyein put some space between them, but Woojin tightened his grip on her.
“I’m practically glued to your side.”
Ignoring her resistance, he firmly cupped Hyein’s face with his hands. He meticulously scanned her every feature. At first glance, there wasn’t anything vastly different from usual, but Woojin was able to note even the finest differences. After all, he was always watching over her. Her complexion was paler than usual, and she looked less lively. Even her eyes were dull. She looked exhausted. The greatest reason that would cause Hyein such distress would be her little sister’s health.
“Did something happen to Hyesoo?”
“She’s doing fine. She called to tell me that Mr. Na visited her last night.”
“Yes. He wanted to visit her, so I gave him the hospital’s address.”
Hm. With an unsatisfied expression, Woojin blearily looked at her before questioning, “If it’s not Hyesoo, did something happen to you?”
Hyein unconsciously rubbed the back of her hand on her cheek, unknowingly admitting that Woojin was right, and tried belatedly to turn her head but was stopped by Woojin’s hand grabbing her smooth chin.
“Are you not going to tell me?”
“I just wasn’t feeling well last week. I’m fine now.”
“Were you sick? A lot of people are catching summer colds lately.”
Without waiting for a response, Woojin pushed a finger between Hyein’s lips. Upon touching her even teeth, Hyein’s pale complexion turned flushed. When she grabbed Woojin’s hand to pull it out, he only thrust the finger deeper into her mouth in defiance.
“Ngh! Mmm, mn.”
He persistently rubbed the pad of his finger against Hyein’s moist tongue as if he was trying to wear down his fingerprint, and a heated moan escaped her lips. Both of them could feel the feverish excitement beneath their waists. After thoroughly wetting the skin of his finger, Woojin slowly pulled it out of her mouth before sucking the excess saliva off. His throat bobbed up and down as he tasted it. Hyein’s face grew beet red in shame.
Resentfully glaring at Woojin, Hyein smacked his shoulder hard to complain. He calmly accepted her attacks.
