Chapter 40: Ye Fan’s Name on the Top Search (3)
Since Nanny Li’s young grandson had gotten sick, she had to ask Ye Fan for a day off, but Ye Fan told her she could stay at home for a few more days.
Since Ye Fan was always at home recently, she could take care of Dudu by herself.
“Dudu, come here.” Ye Fan spread out her arms to Dudu.
Dudu was slowly walking around, but when he heard Ye Fan call out to him, he quickly ran over with his short little legs. He grinned, revealing a set of pearly whites.
Ye Fan put her hand under Dudu’s armpit and heaved up his chubby little body. After carrying her child so much, she felt like she had gotten stronger.
In the past, her arms would begin to feel sore after carrying Dudu for just a short while, but now she could carry him for longer without breaking a sweat.
The sofa was very large and Ye Fan was sitting cross-legged on it while Dudu sat on her lap. His entire chubby little body was encased by her arms. He had a very soft body, and she had the pleasures of being able to fondle it whenever she wanted to.
Dudu couldn’t get rid of his bad habit of sucking on his fingers, so he had his thumb in his mouth still.
But Ye Fan was not strict with him. She pulled down Dudu’s hands, and before he could react, turned on the TV to divert his attention.
Sure enough, Dudu began clapping his hands as she switched the channels, completely disregarding what happened before.
“I wanna see mama! See mama!” He shouted with excitement.
Since the series began broadcasting, Ye Fan had watched several episodes of it with Dudu. So, whenever it was time for the show to come on, Dudu would immediately pay attention.
However, Ye Fan would only pick out a few parts for Dudu to watch. She always skipped all the scenes relating to He Han.
So, Dudu was only watching the show to see Ye Fan. He had no idea what he was watching at all.
The scene tonight was the confrontation between Ye Fan and Tang Jin in the rain.
The music began to play while the heavy rain poured incessantly. Ye Fan’s clothes were soaked through as she stood in front of Tang Jin, questioning her.
Following the progression of the plot, Ye Fan had always paid attention to her every movement. She wanted to know whether she had underperformed in any areas.
Ye Fan was focusing on the TV when she suddenly heard Dudu call out to her. “Mama. Mama.” Ye Fan quickly looked away from the screen, asking, “What’s wrong?”
Dudu pointed her meaty fingers at Tang Jin on the TV screen. “Mama, there’s a bad person.”
Ye Fan was stunned. Logically speaking, she was playing the villain in the show, while Tang Jin was naturally the righteous patriot as the heroine.
Dudu scooted closer into Ye Fan’s arms and said, “The bad person made mama cry. I don’t want mama cry.”
Dudu was a child, so he didn’t know about those complicated things, nor did he understand what he was watching. But he saw Ye Fan cry, so he instinctively disliked Tang Jin.
When Ye Fan saw how unhappy Dudu was, she immediately turned off the TV. But Dudu kept pouting as he nestled into her arms. Ye Fan pinched his pouted lips and brought him into the room.
Carrying Dudu, she brought him to the window. Many little lights dotted the streets outside. After night came, the entire city became a colorful place.
Even though Ye Fan was already familiar with her baby now, she did not have any experience in dealing with children. So, she could only find a way to quickly turn the baby’s attention away.
Ye Fan swept her eyes around the room and saw the ad on the shelf. “Mama will buy you a robot next time, okay?”
Ye Fan felt that boys probably liked playing with those.
But she never expected that Dudu was still upset. He pursed his lips and shook his head. “I like mama more.”
Ye Fan felt her heart crash. With a serious face, she looked at Dudu, saying, “Okay, mama promises you. Mama won’t cry anymore, okay?”
Only then did Dudu’s tears stop, and he smiled. Like before, he still held onto Ye Fan’s neck affectionately.
Before Ye Fan transmigrated over, the original Ye Fan would often cry in the night. Dudu saw it many times, and it left a very deep impression in his heart.
So, Dudu didn’t like seeing his mama cry. He was scared that if his mama cried, then the always-smiling mama would disappear.
Ye Fan held Dudu tight and said in a gentle voice, “As long as mama has you, mama doesn’t need anything else.”
She made a solemn promise to Dudu.
After she said that, Ye Fan lowered her head to land a kiss on Dudu’s chubby little cheek.
