Chapter 2.1: Contract Marriage
Xiao Zheng was astonished three times over and surprised seven times over.
At the foot end of the hallway, there were silhouettes lit up with brilliant colors.
Just as the elder sister was ready to add fuel to the fire and vent her bottled anger, Xiao Zheng’s complicated look changed.
He lit his cigarette and said with a face full of joy, “Like I said, I told you that I was drinking too much. No matter how hungry I may be, I don’t want to end up like this. Fortunately,” he sighed, “It’s just a false alarm.”
Not waiting for the elder sister to explode from her volcanic rage, Xiao Zheng went forward. Before he pushed opened the door, he looked back and said, “No sugar in my coffee. Thank you.”
Xiao Zheng saw the sign on the top had the words “CEO’s Office” inscribed. In other words, the one waiting for him behind those doors was the elder sister’s boss–a rich woman worth over hundreds of millions…
Should not upper-class young ladies of high status change men like they do their underwear frequently? Why would someone like her choose to stick to him after sleeping together for one night? Had he inadvertently snaked through her heart and soul in some form?
Opening the door, the office room was the size of a giant. On the left were rows of large wooden bookshelves. It was like a whole world of its own. There were many rare books stacked on the shelves, many of which were original copies. To the right was a small reception area. Towards the corner was a sofa table. There were no ashtrays, no magazines… not even a drinking utensil. In addition, the carpet flooring here looked newer than all the other decorum of the room.
Xiao Zheng concluded the owner of this officer rarely entertained any guests.
On the sofa near the reception area was a cold, top-class beauty donned in an elegant suit. Xiao Zheng’s could not convey in words the beauty of her snow-white face, but he knew her face covered an aura that seemed like no one could ever go near her. Her two pairs of limpid eyes shout out a cold light that seemed to stretch out for thousands of miles.
Perhaps it was due to her presence… but the temperature of the spacious office felt like it’d dropped and created a combination of ice-cold warmth.
Xiao Zheng noticed a middle-aged man near his forties nervously standing beside the otherworldly goddess. He was dressed tight and neatly. His shoes even shone with luster, however, a hint of uneasiness and nervousness flashed on his well-to-do refined face. Being in the same room as the Ice Goddess seemed torturous for him and even more so when standing so close to her.
Just as Xiao Zheng walked towards the reception area, the ice cold goddess suddenly spoke. Her tone was firm and carried a sense of unquestionable bearing. Even the middle-aged man beside her quickly straightened his back like a good soldier.
On the other hand, Xiao Zheng calmly strode forward and sat on the opposite side of the Ice Goddess. In the middle of the two sofas was a steel table that sat less than a meter away from both sides. Xiao Zheng enjoyed the beautiful scenery before him at close distance without restraint.
The woman, she was breathtakingly beautiful.
Her facial features looked as if they were carved from the very heavens itself. Her skin, it looked as tender and juicy like a piece of meat; her red lips were plump like petals, and her rows of white teeth glittered like pearls. A cold arrogance lingered between her two brows for a long time. A simple glance and the vast majority of men would involuntarily feel a sense of inferiority.
However, Xiao Zheng automatically blocked the Ice Goddess’ sharp aura. After examining her facial features, however slight that may be, he wore a relieved expression. “I finally found the reason why I chose to drink with you that night. If it were to happen again, I think I would still be willing to spend the night with you.”
The Ice Goddess’ limpid eyes turned from icy cold to the fiery gates of hell in a mere second. If she could, she’d burn Xiao Zheng’s body to the point that not even his bone marrows could be seen.
The middle-aged man who knew the story between Xiao Zheng and the Ice Goddess sighed inwardly. He felt both endless admiration and sympathy for Xiao Zheng’s heavenly defying words.
It’s alright if he offends people, but offending the strongest woman in the Empire State Building? Had he gone mad?
Who did not know that the new CEO of New Arcana Group held the notorious title for hating men?
He’s eaten the guts of a feisty leopard alright… and now… and now he dares to spend the night with an icy beauty in her moments of drunkenness?
Little Brother, do you know how many words of “death” lingers around you now?
