Chapter 16.1 : Me And Yaksha Princess
The troll is buried under the rubble of the collapsed ceiling.
Along with our way out.
…….. As for Carlile the culprit of this situation, he was on the other side of the rubble.
Could it be that he was buried below the rubble too?
If he really is buried……………
Well, it’s not like he couldn’t do one or two things about such a situation anyway.
Rather than him, what about Reanschild.
When I checked again, I saw a large wound on her back stretching from her left shoulder. Half of her body is already drenched red by blood.
I need to do something about her wound before we started to move.
I took off my tunic.
「…… Why aren’t you wear anything under your training gear」
Reanschild muttered with a dumbfounded face.
Hey that’s rude. Please don’t treat me like I’m some kind of exhibitionist.
「Aren’t I wearing something proper beneath it」
「Body shaper is underwear」
「It’s okay as long as it hides what must be hidden」
I then try to tear my tunic.
Damn it. It wouldn’t tear.
…….. It’s more durable than I thought.
It’s impossible to tear it by relying on my own strength.
Therefore, I looked for something that I might be able to use in my vicinity. While looking around, I saw a sword right under my foot. It might be the sword that was torn from Carlile-san’s hand a while ago.
THIS IS IT!
「Lefiya-sama! Is Reanschild-sama safe!? 」
Carlile-san was shouting from the other side of the rubble.
Thanks god it seems that he somehow managed to save himself.
I really am worried about your safety you know?
「Not safe, but still okay! Since Reanschild was in bad condition due to you Carlile-san, I have torn off my clothes! That’s why don’t worry about her condition! 」
「I don’t know what you mean in various ways! 」
Well, since he’s safe for now, I’ll prioritize Reanschild’s bleeding first. I had to stop further bloodlost.
Or so I say, but I wondered what I have to do to stop the bleeding on her back, I’m sure that I could apply some pressure to stop it.
……….. Was I wrong?
Anyway, let’s act first.
After undressing her clothes, I noticed that her wound is far worse than I thought.
I moved quickly to press the opened wound with clothes and fix it.
However, when I thought about the fact that I was exposing an unlady-like appearance, I, one way or another, manage to hide my skin with the clothes that was torn on the back.
Anyway, Reanschild’s current condition was more important than my unlady-like state. Right now, her complexion couldn’t get any worse than this. She might’ve lost a lot of blood already.
But, I can’t do anything about the lost blood, at this time I could only try my best to stop her wound from bleeding further.
While I was feeling impatient and irritated, a voice calls to me again from the other side of the debris.
「I’ll be back again, please wait right there since I’m going to call for reinforcements! I’ll be back in a while! 」
「I don’t want such a promise! 」
「Geez, you aren’t listening to me!! Talk about humans! 」
Even if you say so.
I mean, I didn’t want to hear such a promise.
I still had some trauma about that kind of promise.
「Go back to Maou castle, Carlile-san! We’re going to look for another route! 」
「Geez, you really aren’t listening to me aren’t you! Understood! Though it would be best if you’re not moving from your position, please be careful on your way! I’ll be back! 」
Carlile-san was shouting with a half-despaired voice. I knew though that he went properly from his sign. Thank god it didn’t end up in a heated debate. And, since he basically flung a labyrinth troll with his bare hands, he should be alright by himself.
Now I have to worry about our situation.
But then, I have to stop the bleeding from this deep wound somehow.
Though she couldn’t move, this kind of wound is going to affect her life if it was not treated properly as soon as possible.
「I’m fine, you have to go now…………」
Reanschild told me so while trying to raise her upper body.
Ignoring her, I carry her on my back and retraced the way I came here.
……….. Crap. I couldn’t use that path anymore.
I opened the door of the nearest room and slip inside.
I mean I could see the shadow of those labyrinth troll’s at the end of the other side of the passage.
They were coming from the direction of the room where Reanschild was held captive before.
I closed the door in panic and pin it with my weight.
「We left the door of that room open huh」
「With that density. They’re going to gather to that room as long as they don’t notice us」
「Anyway, we have no choice but to peep at the situation. How about your wound? It still hurts right?」
「It’s not that painful anymore thanks to the effect of the demon incense. Please do not treat my body the same way as a humans, my body is way stronger than a human body」
「………. Ah. Sorry I forgot the fact that you’re a demon. does the body of demons have powerful regeneration ability? 」
「Though some of demon race does have that ability, unfortunately I’m not one of them. But thanks to your emergency treatment just now, it somehow stopped the bleeding. Thank you very much」
I took a more comfortable posture and drop Reanschild on the floor.
Though I feel bad for her, I couldn’t let her lie on her back due to her wound. I’m sorry.
She raised her body and entrusted her weight to the wall with her right shoulder.
Crap, I couldn’t let this situation go on like this.
「Lefiya-sama. You know the difference between “demon race” and “demon”, right?」
Unexpectedly, whilst I was racking my brain for a topic to break the ice, she was the one who did it first. And that made me curious over what she wanted to say since her atmosphere was somewhat different from usual.
Then again, it might be due to the combination of the wound on her back and the smell of the incense. Though the smell had reduced a lot compared to before.
Before I could even shake my head in response to her words, she kept going on.
「The beings called demons are bodiless beings that increased in number from goddess of chaos, while the demon race are beings that have physical body and a life span. That was the origin of his majesty, the people who created this kingdom. Amongst them were people who have similar builds to those labyrinth trolls」
「They have no children? Eh?」
「There’s almost no gender distinction amongst demons. Though they’re unable to procreate, their numbers are multiplying in places like this labyrinth」
「They’re born from labyrinth. What a mysterious creature, aren’t they?」
I wasn’t aware of that. The fact that there were such great differences.
「That’s why many demon race don’t want to be compared with those mindless demons. So you better remember this fact」
「Could it be that you too, Reanschild? 」
「I do feel unpleasant about that, but that’s all」
「I’m sorry. I……… Never knew about that」
AAAH. I was completely mistaken between the two up till now.
Why did no one ever taught me about that when I arrived here?!
Is it because they are naturally aware of such facts from birth and took it as common knowledge?! Or, was it because I’m a human?!
Yup…………. It most probably was because I’m a human.
Even though it can be said that we’re living in different worlds, why I wondered I felt so unpleasant right now. Was it because I finally realized the existing distance that had separated the human race and the demon race?
「…….. I just want to let you know about that fact, Lefiya-sama. What I just said was an impertinent matter. My apologies」
「Ah, I see. When I realized the difference between those two, it’ll change my way of calling too. A queen won’t make such mistakes」
「I just couldn’t help myself from teaching you about that fact. I didn’t wish for Lefiya-sama to be deemed as impolite with no awareness」
She’s muttering with a voice that feels like it’s going to vanish at any moment.
It’s not her fault though since I never cared about such things up till now.
「It’s okay. Because I’m aware about such facts now」
「I’m surprised to find you could say that so easily」
「Even so, it’s going to be different now isn’t it? 」
「Now you can gain another person’s respect」
「I doubt about that though. Isn’t that way too extreme? 」
The root of these problem might be too deep. It was too deep to the point of cornering myself. Then again, it was better than having myself be hated by a beauty.
「It might be because I didn’t hold you in high regard from the very beginning. I’m not certain about my feelings either. I just felt that it was natural. You’re just a human who appeared out of nowhere, rude to the point of rejecting the marriage proposal of the person I respect the most, Maou-sama. See, it’s a boring reason right」
「Because I’m rejecting the marriage proposal huh」
「To be honest, I’m not sure about it either. I mean I’ve never met your most adored Maou-sama again except for the first day during the two weeks I’ve stayed here. I wonder how serious he is about his marriage proposal」
「His majesty is really serious about his marriage proposal. But, how should I say, that matter is a bit………」
For some reason she’s averting her gaze and hesitated to say the reason.
She might know something, but what was it I wonder.
