You’re Screwed! Part 1
“Give me back my phone!” Bai Qingyan shouted at him, with eyes as cold as snow in winter.
Even with the mild weather they now had, the waiter couldn’t help but shiver from her icy gaze. He was so intimidated he promptly returned the phone to the woman.
“Well, well, if it isn’t Bai Qingyan, the future movie queen!” An elegant woman walked out of the restaurant, sneering. She forcefully snatched Bai Qingyan’s phone.
By now all Bai Jian wanted was to prevent the conflict even he could see forming. “Yan Yan, forget it and let’s leave. It’s just a cell phone. You can buy a new one.”
He worried about this unknown woman’s identity. Anyone who could walk in and out of this restaurant so easily must be extremely wealthy. Such a person shouldn’t be provoked.
Throughout his life, Bai Jian avoided having conflicts with anyone. His method of dealing with this sort of person was to endure and evade.
“It’s all right, Uncle. I won’t suffer being bullied like this. We’re all human beings, why should we be treated like this?” Bai Qingyan brushed away her uncle’s hand, angry.
Bai Jian was nervous. His younger sister had been soft-hearted just like him. But Bai Qingyan had a determined personality, unlike theirs, she had apparently inherited it from her father.
The woman twirled Bai Qingyan’s phone on her hand, toying with it. “Ah… You don’t like it? So what? What can you do?”
Bai Qingyan stared at the intruder, analyzing her. With a black skirt, a v-neck blouse and sunglasses, she looked seductive. But Bai Qingyan could imagine the mockery in her eyes, hidden behind those glasses.
Quickly grabbing back her phone, she dialed Gu Yezhi. She didn’t care if anyone bullied her, but she wouldn’t allow anyone to harass her uncle! Even if after today Gu Yezhi got angry and thought she was useless, she still wanted to ask him to aid her.
But the newcomer wouldn’t let her go that easily. “What are you doing? Do you want to invite reporters? I’ll have you know I have an intimate relationship with the media. Even if they came and filmed all this, it would never be aired. Who do you think you are?” She spat, face twisting in disdain.
The waiter, all but forgotten to the side, forgot how scared he had been of Bai Qingyan. Emboldened by the mysterious woman’s attitude, he also sneered at the niece and uncle pair.
The truth was, he didn’t want to be mean to Bai Jian. Although this customer wasn’t wearing leather shoes and a suit, he was clean and tidy. There was no reason to prevent him from entering the restaurant.
But he hindered the man because the woman with sunglasses paid him to do so. Quite a lot of money, in fact. He had examined Bai Jian several times. Seeing him as a soft-hearted person, the waiter felt it was okay to bully him, so he accepted the bribe.
The moment the waiter heard the woman’s words, the heart that Bai Qingyan had stepped into obedience rebelled once more.
As Bai Jian heard how reckless the other party was being, he couldn’t help but worry. “Yan Yan… Forget it… ” He didn’t want them getting in trouble just for a meal.
Bai Qingyan merely stared at the woman wearing sunglasses, indifferent. Furrowing her brows, she pondered where she had seen that woman before. She seemed so familiar… But she couldn’t recognize her because of the glasses.
“Well? I’m still waiting to see what you can do. Go on!” The woman taunted arrogantly. She was certain this nobody wouldn’t be able to do anything to her.
The call had connected, but Bai Qingyan still hadn’t spoken a word. Gu Yezhi’s indifferent voice could be heard. “Hello, Bai Qingyan. Is something wrong?”
She had planned to utilize her acting skill to put up a good show for him, with much crying and pleading as soon as he answered the phone.
But the moment she heard Gu Yezhi’s voice, her plans were destroyed. Her heart clenched and her eyes reddened.
With the lack of response, Gu Yezhi became concerned. “Bai Qingyan?”
