Chapter 105: Deceiving Uncle Sheng (2)
Just as she was thinking about it, another smack rang out.
Shu Nuan gripped the quilt and bit her lip to keep her mouth shut.
From behind her, a man’s voice rang out.
“Still won’t speak?”
Shu Nuan kept silent. Sheng Qianmo wasn’t hitting her lightly, yet even after being spanked to the point a hot pain had settled in her shapely bottom, she refused to cry out.
Sheng Qianmo didn’t intend to be soft-hearted, so he hit her hard for dozens of times. But he was surprised that this weak little girl remained tight-lipped and refused to ask for mercy, or even to say a word of pleading to him. She just endured the pain without saying a word.
How could Sheng Qianmo not realize her pain? He knew her skin was so tender it would turn red if he’d grabbed her hand a little hard: let alone being spanked by him.
He didn’t intend to be soft-hearted, yet Sheng Qianmo still stopped. After all, this little sheep was stubborn.
He whispered, “Nuan.”
Shu Nuan closed her eyes and buried her small face in the bedding, still not speaking.
Sheng Qianmo looked at the little girl on the couch who refused to move, and asked, “Are you really so angry with me?”
However, Shu Nuan still didn’t say a word.
Sheng Qianmo stared at her for a moment, and then turned around and left.
But before long, the door of the Shu Pavilion opened again, and Sheng Qianmo came in with some medicine.
While he was putting it on her, she just laid on the couch obediently with clenched lips. She didn’t move until Sheng Qianmo put down her skirt and left.
From beginning to end, Shu Nuan had been quiet.
At night, Sheng Qianmo pushed open the door of the pavilion again. Seeing Shu Nuan still in the same place, he patted her bottom and asked, “Does it still hurt?”
Fearing that he’d spank her again, Shu Nuan learned to be honest and shook her head a little.
The next moment, Sheng Qianmo stretched out his arms and placed her on his lap. Shu Nuan’s face was wet, peach blossom eyes moist, and long eyelashes bearing teardrops. Her nose was red, as if she’d suffered an immense grievance.
All of a sudden, Sheng Qianmo’s heart softened, although his face was still calm. After staring at the poor girl for a while, he whispered, “Can’t you tell This Prince about the problem? Must you have me wrong you so?”
Shu Nuan breathed in. She replied, “There is no problem.”
Lying while looking so miserable, Sheng Qianmo couldn’t help but raise the corner of his lips by a little. He wiped her tears and said, “Ji Xili had come to the military camp to talk about just one thing, and after she was done, I sent her away. Did you see us then?”
Shu Nuan looked up at him with widened eyes, which looked moist. She couldn’t figure out how Sheng Qianmo knew, but she quickly realized that her reaction had been too obvious. So, she shook her head modestly.
“Nuan didn’t go to the camp…” she said. Her voice lowered, and she continued, “Your Highness, you don’t have to explain this to me…”
Sheng Qianmo didn’t argue with the naive little girl. Instead, he reached out and pinched her cheek.
“Look at this good girl, how magnamious.”
Shu Nuan face turned red. She pushed away his hand and turned her head, refusing to show him her expression.
But Sheng Qianmo hadn’t made enough fun of her yet. He touched her belly again.
“This belly is so reliable, it’d never lie.”
Shu Nuan blushed even more, and she was embarrassed as she raised her head to stare at him with watery eyes. She said with shortness of breath, “I… didn’t…”
Shu Nuan didn’t know what to say to him anymore, so she simply lowered her head and stopped talking.
