My Little Girl (54)
Sheng Qianmo hadn’t expected that when he held the little girl in his arms to calm her down, she would ask him with tears in her eyes, “I- Can I go tomorrow?”
The little girl didn’t realise how saddening her appearance was, as she’d suffered much. Sheng Qianmo thought of the matter of going out to be insignificant, yet he’d made her bullied her to the point she cried like this. He thought he’d enjoy her requests made in such a pitiful manner, but in the end, he couldn’t bear it.
Sheng Qianmo wiped her tears. He bowed his head and kissed her tear-mole at the corner of her eyes. He said, “Alright. You can go if you want, but remember to come back before dark. Understood?”
Shu Nuan nodded and embraced him, her grip firm.
The next day.
Shu Nuan’s mouth was still sore. So she visited the Old Mama in secret and got ointment for her her lips. When she returned for breakfast, Sheng Qianmo was staring at her lips. Shu Nuan didn’t remember much of what had transpired last night. Covering her mouth, she glared at him, but behind the temper in her eyes was a softness.
And Sheng Qianmo stared at her in a kind manner, knowing her temper was just a facade. Passing her a dish of food, he asked, “Do you want This Prince to take you to the academy later?”
“No,” Shu Nuan replied. “I’m not a child anymore.”
Was she a child with a bad temper that she’d need adult supervision even when going out to play? It would be too shameful.
Sheng Qianmo smiled and said nothing.
After eating, Shu Nuan changed into a light blue skirt and went out carrying the bag he had given her. Sheng Qianmo stopped her while he was leaving for court, and all of a sudden held her in his arms and kissed her before letting go.
Holding the bag, she said goodbye in an embarrassed manner.
When they both left the manor, Sheng Gu came out from a corridor. She stared at the main gate for a long time without speaking.
Her servant, Zi Lan, was standing behind her. She came over and whispered, “Princess, the people we hired from the outside are done with their arrangements.”
Sheng Gu nodded and twisted a petal in her hand, crushing it .
As she turned to walk back, Zi Lan hurried to help her. The servant knew about Ah’Bi’s matter. Since that incident, the princess had been in poor health. Although she had allowed the imperial doctor to examine her pulse and also took his prescribed medicine every day, her mood hadn’t improved.
And how could her mood get any better? The day before, her uncle had lifted her punishment. She thought he wasn’t angry with her anymore and had forgiven her. But later she learned that he had gone to the Yulin Academy to watch that slave girl’s performance…
Sheng Gu herself was a student at the Yulin Academy but was no longer allowed to attend.
And yet there was more: her servants had informed that the prince had carried Shu Nuan back to the manor.
Her uncle was so arrogant and aloof, yet he had went to the extent of carrying that piddling slave on his back.
Sheng Gu could only wonder what means the girl had that would cause her uncle to show her such concern.
Thinking of these things, her hatred of Shu Nuan only deepened.
The people she had planted in the academy had told her that Shu Nuan would be going out with others from Class 10. Not having vented her grief so far, how could the princess miss this opportunity?
Sheng Gu bit her lips. Her eyes were gloomy.
