My Little Girl (49)
Shu Nuan blushed. The thought of those beautiful lips that had kissed her with such passion did it.
As soon Sheng Qianmo turned his head, was momentarily dumbstruck. He sees Shu Nuan had change into her school uniform.
She hadn’t removed her makeup, so her face looked as lovely as before. She wore white scholar’s clothes with her hair tied with a loose ribbon and swaying in the wind. He felt her appearance to be tempting.
Sheng Qianmo’s mouth curved into a smile and he went over to hold her hand. “Let’s go.”
Shu Nuan bowed her head and followed him in silence.
Sheng Qianmo could sense that Shu Nuan was still upset, and it was why she paid no heed to him as they walked.
It wasn’t long ago that Shu Nuan had been told not to come to the academy because of her relationship with Sheng Qianmo. So this situation should’ve been avoided.
But Sheng Qianmo didn’t avoid it. He even held her hand and walked through the large academy. It was the Yuanyang Festival, and many people were coming and going. Many people saw them walking on the road, hand in hand.
She felt embarrassed, but the prince showed no worry. What right did she then have to voice this issue?
Shu Nuan remained silent all the way. At one point, Sheng Qianmo couldn’t help but pinch her soft hand and ask, “Still angry?”
Her head still bowed, she said in a controlled voice, “No.”
Sheng Qianmo halted and pinched her chin to scrutinise her face. He drew his conclusion. “Your lips are a little swollen.”
Shu Nuan didn’t expect him to mention this. Feeling annoyed, she couldn’t help but complain, “And who does the blame lie with…”
And yet, Sheng Qianmo didn’t understand repentance. His smile deepened. “Who told you to look so lovely tonight?”
Astonished, she turned her face away from him.
On the way she kept her lips sealed.
After they returned near the performance hall, Sheng Qianmo gauged that Shu Nuan had become more ill-tempered towards him. But how she acted only made him more pleased.
“Well, what do you want to do tonight? This Prince will let you decide.”
Sheng Qianmo had never thought he’d one day have to coax a little girl still so naive and immature. But at the moment, he didn’t feel it was out of place for him.
Upon hearing his words, Shu Nuan blinked her eyes a little before turning to look at him. Her gaze seemed to sparkle with happiness, as she asked with the hope evident in her voice, “Can Your Highness show me around the capital?”
Sheng Qianmo smiled. “You want to take a stroll?”
He recalled how rarely Shu Nuan had left the Manor. The only time she went out had been with him during the Lantern Festival. She was still a little girl, so it wasn’t odd for her to want to have fun.
Shu Nuan nodded, her eyes glistening with expectation.
Shu Nuan was a little surprised. “Well, but I’ll go see Master Gao first.”
Master Gao had been looking for Shu Nuan and probably had something to say. With Sheng Qianmo’s status it wouldn’t be good to escort the girl over. He rubbed her silky hair, and said, “This Prince will wait for you outside the academy.”
He raised her chin and took another look at her pretty face. Unable to help himself, he squeezed her chin a little before she left.
